Live and learn

I had a really good idea but....

Well sometimes we get a lot of rain so I thought that it might be a good idea to do something to keep the water out of our new shed and from getting water damage to all the things we have stored in there.

I had Meg pick me up some expanding sealant. (Touch 'n Foam) You know the stuff that poor people put around everything in there cardboard homes...I mean pre-fab-home, to insulate, keep insects and other pests out and it fills gaps and holes not to menchen it bounds to most surfaces and is water resistant/fire retardant.

I put the foam down then used my hands and fingers to really get into the cracks and crevasses, what a mess it made all on my hands and in between my fingers.

I had all that foam stuff on my hands and it started to burn, so I did what you always do ..."rinse with water and soap for 15 min.
Well the more I washed the worse it got, my hands felt like they had supper glue on them and they were starting to really, really burn , so I hollered at Meg to get the can I had put in the trash and to see what it said about removing this stuff if it gets on your skin!

Even though I didn't see her crack a smile I know that she was dieing inside laughing. As she was reading the "To Remove From Skin" part of the directions she pointed at the can and said..."It says here to always wear gloves..., and that if you do get it on your hands....

" DO NOT USE WATER!"

Not the best move I've made but one well learn.

Classic.

Then again... my first thought would have been to use water. Not using water is about as logical as a burrito that says "in case of intestinal damage, do not use toilet paper." Go figure.

Ohhh Poor Baby boy!!! I have been using some stuff called gorila glue. It is activatived by water.. sort of foams up and expandes. Its suposed to glue anything.. well it doesnt.. but I bet, if I hadnt read the instructions and caustions.. I would have done the same thing. I think you can use fingernail polish to remove it from skin. But gloves are recommeded. Live and learn.. next time.. read the instuctins and the cautions.. even if its some new Elmer's glue thing.. Hope you are feeling better.. and oh.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!
