Meg was telling me about an old farmers wives tail. She said that if it's going to rain then cows will move to higher ground. Well it must be true because I have noticed that right before and while it's raining the cows do indeed move to higher ground, and in this case higher ground just happens to be in our backyard.
Here's the proof.

It's been raining here all day and is raining as I type this but we had about an hour earlier when the rain had stopped so I decided to go on a hike into the nearby forest and give Meg some time by herself, while Audrey was taking a nap to read a book she's been dying to read and it finally came in at the library today. Well the stream was loaded with lot's of muddy water(the muddy part is normal for these parts) and it was wet, wet, wet. What I'm really looking for is the wild turkeys that I hear quite often . I did find lots of varieties of mushrooms and if I knew what type were safe to eat we could have had a feast toinght. I also found lots of spider slik...hard to miss when it's stiking to your face...aaarrrr, some really pretty stones at the stream that were probably worth a few thousand dollors a piece but I'm no rock expert so I just left them.......oh and the I saw these guys....
I stopped and watched these guys for quite some time, very funny there was a small, medium, and large one and it appeared to me that they were all fighting for the same leaf on just one of a billion like plants that they could have chosen instead.

I found no turkeys but did come home with 5 ticks. I love the woods, there is just something magic about them that energizes me...oh by the way the small bug won, must have been a woman bug and started to nag so the 2 boy bugs left to go to the bar.
